Private Benjamin Charles S Mellor, 8078, 2nd Battalion, Hampshire Regiment, was born in Hartfield in 1892. He lived in Ringwood, Hampshire.and enlisted on 14th January 1915 in Worcester. He was killed in action on 3rd May 1915 near Fir Tree Wood, Gallipoli, Turkey, age 25 and has no known grave and is listed on the Helles Memorial: Panel 125-134 or 223-226 228-229 & 328.
He was the son of Mary (1860-1906) and Lewis (1856-1894) Mellor. His pre-war occupation was as a Regular Soldier.
