Private Edward Divall, 46126, 7th Battalion, Royal Fusiliers, 63rd Royal Naval Division, was born in Hartfield in 1876. He lived at 11 Road Ridgewood, Uckfield. He was died on 29th April 1917 near Arras, Pas de Calais, France, age 41 and has no known grave and is listed on the Arras Memorial : Bay 3.
He was the son of Thomas and Hannah (Davies) Divall, of Hurstland Cottages, Hartfield.. He was married to Ellen (Mitchell) (1880) Divall, of 37 New Rd., Ridgewood, Uckfield and had a daughter Sophia Grace (1906). His pre-war occupation was a File Presser.
