Frederick Sylvester Edwards

Private Frederick Sylvester Edwards, G/1302, 2nd Battalion, Royal Sussex Regiment, was born in Hartfield on 8th May 1894. He lived at Little Reeds Farm, Hartfield and enlisted in September 1914 in Tunbridge Wells. He was killed in action on 9th May 1915 near Le Touret, Bethune, France, age 21 and has no known grave and is listed on the Le Touret Memorial : Panel 20 and 21.

He was the son of Sylvester (1859) and Sarah Ann (Weeding) (1865) Edwards. His pre-war occupation was a Gardener.
