Harry Bramwell was born about 1873 in Aspull, Lancashire. He was the step father of Marjorie Sumner who was the Headmistress of St Mary’s School and lived at School House, Hartfield. He was killed by enemy bombing on 9th July 1943 on Station Road, East Grinstead, age 70 and is buried in St Mary’s Churchyard, Hartfield: Grave E 38.
His father was James Bramwell. He had previously been married to Catherine Cordelia Grime who died in 1921. He was a Civilian Air Raid Warden.
