Captain and Adjutant John Ramsay Paton, IA/1054, 13th Frontier Force Rifles, Indian Army, was born in Farnham District in 1919. He lived at Pond Close, Upper Hartfield. He died of wounds on 19th December 1941 near Taiping, Malaysia, age 22 and is buried in Taiping War Cemetery, Malaysia: 1. B. 12.
He was the son of Lieutenant Colonel Ramsey Slade Stirling Paton (1884) and Mrs Marianne Janet (Bowring) (1884) Paton.
