Private John Weeding, G/13259, “D” Company, 7th Battalion, The Buffs (East Kent Regiment), was born in East Grinstead District in 1897. He lived at Edgemount, Colemans Hatch and enlisted in East Grinstead. He died from appendicitis on 20th August 1917 near Ypres, Belgium, age 20 and is buried in Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery, Belgium: Grave XVII. K. 4A.
He was the son of George (1858) and Sarah Ann (Langridge) (1856) Weeding. His pre-war occupation was in the employ of Mr McAndrew JP. His brother James died on 3rd May 1917.
