Thomas Alexander Mann

Second Lieutenant Thomas Alexander Mann, 88476, 144 (The Surrey and Sussex Yeomanry) Field Regiment, Royal Artillery, was born in East Grinstead District in 1919. He lived at Bolebroke Castle, Hartfield. He died from a ruptured appendix in hospital on 7th January 1941 in Khartoum, Sudan, age 21 and is buried in Khartoum War Cemetery: Grave 9. B. 7.

He was the son of Percival Ramsay Mann (1882 – 1942) and Norah Helen Milne Mann.

Listed on the War Memorial in Hartfield. There is also a memorial plaque on north wall of St Mary’s Church Hartfield in his memory.
