Lieutenant (Viscount) David Andrew Noel Stuart, 232729, 11th Hussars 5th Troop ‘A’ Squadron (Troop Leader), Royal Armoured Corps, was born in Rowfant (Registered in Marylebone) on 7th October 1921. He lived at Old Lodge, Nutley. He was killed in action during a German air attack on the Squadron which lasted 25 minutes in the Trigh Capuzzo area on 10th November 1942 in Libya, age 21. He has no known grave and is listed on the Alamein Memorial, Egypt: Column 19.
He was the son of Arthur Stuart, M.C., 7th Earl Castle Stewart, and Eleanor May (Guggenheim), the Countess of Castle Stewart. His brother Robert died on 17th September 1944.
